Account creation here may be delayed while we get ready this summer, more details soon.
Note: This page is sorta functional, but now outdated - needs some serious updating to reflect the latest features.
How It Works
Members work histories are the heart of our system. The busier a member is, the more frequently they’ll appear on our lists and keep being noticed by the industry. To provide greatest flexibility, CastingNotes™ can be viewed in many different ways (membership not required to view or subscribe). Our main site features are detailed below. Also be sure to check out our News page to see our most recently added features, and our Forum to make feature requests. Note: our site is still in Beta, so send feature requests/feedback and watch for more features to be announced regularly.
- Network - Ever wonder how someone knows so-and-so, who’s doing what lately, or with whom someone has worked with in the past? While viewing any entry, click any highlighted tag to see all related entries. For example, click “Peter Kelley Acting” to find classmates or see all actors who have studied there. Click a character-name tag like “Luke” to see all actors who’ve audition/played that role. Even click on a Director or Producer’s name to see all actors they have auditioned and/or worked. Any tag— including addresses/locations and actor names— is clickable and will show related items if available. You may then send private messages to members, even if you don’t know their e-mail address, or chat in the public forum.

- CastingNotes™: our most powerful tool, use presets and filters to quickly and automatically build a complete history of all work, from small to big, by all members. Then quickly sift through our database using the combination of filters that most interest you. For instance, create a custom filter to only show recent television castings, just lead film roles, only training, and more. Or use any combination, such as film roles PLUS training, to customize your results. Members can copy-and-paste tabular results directly into their resume or postcard templates.

- Directory: our second most powerful sorting tool, SiteMap let you quickly narrow down your view by exactly one category, such as type (e.g., film, tv, etc), role (e.g., lead, supporting, etc), and more. SiteMap also adds individual RSS/subsribe support for fine-grained subscription to each category (you can always have multiple subscriptions).
- Track - View any member to see their overall profile, and then click on their “track” tab to see every posting they’ve ever made on our site. Of course, members can also do this for themselves as well, while the built-in menus “track your entries” and “my workspace” make it even easier.
- Subscribe - See who’s doing what as it happens, from anywhere… PC, Mac, mobile phone. You don’t even have to re-visit our site after grabbing a subscription link. Members and non-members alike can subscribe to our
main news feed, or for greater flexibility, see our Directory to narrow subscriptions down to just a single member, category (e.g., film, tv, theatre), or even status (e.g., castings, callbacks, readings, etc). Or any combination of those— the choice is yours, and you can change/update your subscriptions at any time. Get free subscription tools and read more about how subscribe works here.
- Service Links/Social Bookmarking - The new “service links” feature lets you bookmark/blog to today’s most popular services by adding the following links to our pages:

However, you can still receive private messages (which don’t reveal your address) through your own personalized Contact page. To add a Contact page or make other changes to your profile, click here, then on your name, and then “Edit”.
