female, 30s, attractive, mid-western blonde, strong, middle-class working mom, former high school prom queen, slightly weathered and just past her prime.

The mother is the realist of the partnership, she is well aware of the family’s ever-worsening financial situation and is frustrated by her husband’s inability to face facts. There is also an element of jealousy over the relationship the father and son share, as she is not party to their little fantasy world. She feels that the father hides to much from their son and her concern is their future in the way that their life is now, not stuck in the past like her husband.

A confident, restless and vivacious woman, filled with personality. A spontaneous self-starter who is blunt in her words and actions. At times, self-centered and quick to anger, like a firecracker with a short fuse. She is easily frustrated with routine.
