Overview

Want to be a featured member or have an on-location photo added to the rotating header? The Featured Member and rotating header pics currently work by pulling randomly selected featured member photos from a group of pre-selected photos. To get your photos in rotation, follow these tips and then upload them to your attached files section.

  1. Capture
Bring along a 2 MB/megapixel or higher digital camera to future productions to snap photos of yourself and fellow performers during each other’s breaks— it’s a great way to make connections and help each other out. Higher resolution is better, because you can always downsize a large photo to make it smaller during export (see below), but upsizing a small photo to make it larger usually results in poor quality. Cnet or your local electronics retailer like BH Photo Video in NYC, BestBuy, etc are good places to get started. Or drop a note in our Tools & Resources forum to ask other members what cameras they use/suggest.

  2. Edit
Don’t go crazy here. :-) For our Rotating Header purposes, actually less is more— you don’t want to over retouch, zoom, or apply any fancy effects. We’ll take care of any color or other adjustments for you on our end.

  3. Export
To get your pics resized to meet specs for both the rotating header and your account file attachments, export them from your favorite graphics software (or get free software ideas) as JPEG 1024x768@72dpi. This varies widely depending on the particular software package you’re using, but it’s often found under the FILE/EXPORT or FILE/SAVE AS menus.

  4. Upload
Follow the directions on your member files page here to view/edit your current attached files or upload new ones. Or if you prefer, you can host your photos on a different site such as Picasa albums and send us a link directly to the ones you want consider for our Rotating Header. You can upload resumes/images/photos of any size as long as there total is less than your file limit max, but photos must be at least 1024x768 resolution to be considered for the rotating site header.

Want more? Drop a note in our Help forum for Rotating Headers and Tools & Resources forum for help on those topics, or a comment below for clarification on how the above works and we’ll get you started.
